This highly experiential two day workshop aims to develop your assessment and interviewing skills in domestic violence cases.
Domestic violence can be one of the most complex and challenging areas to work with. Workers in the field often report feeling confused, frustrated and doubtful about how best to deal with this issue.
This workshop will:
- review current causal models of intervention
- examine your own personal and professional frameworks
- assist you in identifying restraints to effective intervention
- provide opportunities for developing new skills and strategies in dealing with domestic violence situations
Using role plays, modelling, focused small group work, reflective team processes and group discussion you will be able to analyse your own case material, experiment with a variety of interventions and benefit from direct observation of techniques and direct feedback from facilitator and group members.
